Today sees four members, Aislinn Hurley, Eleanor Fennessy, Kevin Fennessy, and, Aidan O’Brien embark on the Tour De Munster cycle. The cycle departs Cork city hall on Thursday morning. The first day of the nineteenth “Tour de Munster” will take the cyclists through Cork, Waterford, Tipperary and Limerick and on to Killaloe, County Clare. Day Two, they will go through Limerick, Clare and North Kerry to Tralee. Day Three will see them face more big climbs over the Conor Pass and Molls Gap as they make their way via Dingle and Killarney toward Kenmare. Day Four will start with a climb over the Caha Pass and finish on the steep St. Patrick’s Hill in Cork City.The total distance will be 640km.

The primary beneficiaries are the Munster Branches of Down Syndrome Ireland. Down Syndrome Ireland is an organisation of people with Down syndrome and their parents and guardians. Their goal is to help people with Down syndrome make their own futures as bright and independent as possible by providing them with education, support and friendship every step of the way.
Finally, if you have an hour to spare Sunday afternoon, the cyclists are expected at St. Patrick’s Hill at 4.30pm. All support as they tackle the last climb of the tour would be greatly appreciated. There is always a great atmosphere on the hill for the grand finale. Don’t forget to wear your club gear!
