Over The Hill Cycling Club Notes 19th May 2019

This club trip to Mallorca was a huge success with all members thoroughly enjoying their week in the sun.  The highlight of the week was the climb of the iconic Sa Calobra. The Wednesday night spin headed to Glenville and Carrignavar, before turning at Dublin Pike and returning through Templemichael.
The Saturday spin headed for Mountain Barrack and on to the Vee. From there, the route headed to Lismore. There was a stop in Lismore to recharge the batteries, before the return leg to the village. The Sunday spin headed for Conna, and returned via Coolagowan, stopping for coffee in Fermoy. There wwas also a beginners group, which completed a 30km loop, also stopping in Fermoy. There will be a beginners cycle on Sunday morning for the next few weeks. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone looking to take up cycling.
Club cycles continue each Saturday and Sunday. The club is always delighted to welcome new members. On Sunday mornings at 9am, all levels of cyclists are catered for, with the group split into 3 levels. New members are very welcome to turn up and cycle provided they have a racing bike, a helmet, and are over 18.
