Over The Hill Cycling Club Notes 10th November 2019

The Friday crew is growing in reputation and numbers. The lads headed for a very enjoyable spin around north Cork this week. The inclement weather on Saturday morning meant that numbers on the road were small. Peter Power and Pat Ryan braved the icy rain to get a few kilometers in. They were rewarded with blue sky as the rain cleared. There were two groups on the road Sunday as the spin headed for Rathcormac and on to Conna. After a tricky drag to Coolagowan, it was on to Fermoy. Everyone was in celebratory mood at the coffee stop, when a cake was produced to celebrate Mike Gowen's birthday.
Planning is ongoing for our club cyclo cross event in December. The race this year doubles as the Munster championship. The course at Ballindenisk was very well received by competitors last year. This years event promises to be bigger and better. More detail to follow in the coming weeks.

Club cycles will continue on Saturday and Sundays. Details will be posted on club Facebook page. New members are always welcome. On Sunday mornings at 9am, all levels of cyclists are catered for, with the group split into 3 levels. New members are very welcome to turn up and cycle provided they have a racing bike, a helmet, and are over 18.
