Over The Hill Cycling Club Notes 21st February 2020

It was great to get back on the road this weekend after cycles being canceled in recent weeks due to the inclement weather. Saturday saw Brian Atkinson lead a good group east for Youghal returning via Tallow and Fermoy. Sunday saw a huge group depart the village and roll leisurely to Glanmire, and on to Douglas via the city. The pace ramped up on the fast road to Passage West, before getting the ferry at Glenbrook. Once back on dry land at Carrigaloe, it was pedal to the metal as far as Cobh Cross, where there was a well deserved cup of coffee. The caffeine powered the group through Carrigtwohill, Leamlara and back to the village with 60
km completed.

Turbo training continues on Thursday evenings 7.30pm at the First Fruits Arts Centre. Turbo training is open to both members and non members. Club cycles will continue on Saturday and Sundays. Details will be posted on club Facebook page. New members are always welcome. On Sunday mornings at 9am, all levels of cyclists are catered for, with the group split into 3 levels. New members are very welcome to turn up and cycle provided they have a racing bike, a helmet, and are over 18.
