Over The Hill Cycling Club Notes 11th November 2018

All roads led to Tramore Valley Park in Cork City on Sunday for the De Ronde Cross event. This was the fifth round of the Munster Cyclocross League. Dermot Brosnan put in a huge performance to finish third in his caegory. Dermot has been putting in consistent performances all season, and his podium placing was not overdue.  Pat Mc Hugh and Emmet Fennel also represented the club on the days. The lads all put in impressive performances, on what was a very testing course.  The next round of the league takes place in Upperchurch Drombane on the 25th November 2018. Over The Hill Cycling Club will hold a cyclocross event at Ballindenisk Watergrasshill on the 16th December 2018. Planning is well under way for the event which will include underage and adult traces. This promises to be an exciting and fun filled day for all to enjoy.
Last Saturday saw the peloton head east for Garryvoe, Shanagarry and Cloyne. Ably led by Donal Scannell, the weather wsa mixed, Nonetheless, the 85km spin very enjoyable. There was a coffee stop at the greengrocer in Castlemartyr, with members being treated like royalty as usual. The Sunday spin headed to Carrigtwohill via Leamlara.  The 42km loop was enjoyed by all cyclists. Cycling on the karting track at Adventurepark Watergrasshill continued last Tuesday night. This is a great initiative and will run for the next number of weeks. The hour long cycle is proving very popular with members, and allows for safe cycling under lights.
