Over The Hill Cycling Club Notes 2nd December 2018

A big group from the club participated in the Marymount Christmas Cracker Cycle last Saturday. The peloton met in Glanmire, and cycled out to the start at Marymount in Curaheen. From there, the cycle headed for Innishannon, and onto Kinsale. After a stop to refuel, the cyclists headed for Ballinhassig, Bishopstown and back to Glanmire. Sunday saw a big group leave the village, and head for Conna, and Coolagowan, before a coffee stop in Fermoy. The road back to the village was covered in quick time.
Cycling on the karting track at Adventurepark Watergrasshill continued last Tuesday night. This is a great initiative and will run for the next number of weeks. The hour long cycle is proving very popular with members, and allows for safe cycling under lights. Last Tuesday night saw members get their winter gear order.
Next Saturday 8th December sees our annual Spintahon Event take place from 8.00am to 10.00pm at Ross's Centra in Watergrasshill. All proceeds will be donated to Cork Penny Dinners. Anybody looking to cycle for an hour, or who wishes to make a donation should contact Nigel  Carroll.
Preparations are ongoing for our Hillcross races on Sunday 16th December at Ballindenisk. There will be a full programme of Cyclocross races for underage and adults. Entries can be made online at https://cyclingireland.azolve.com/workbench/public/events?ref=8EE77DB8364DB7A5800AE286E313B306A879F328
