Over The Hill Cycling Club Notes 7th April 2019

The weather gods smiled on us all weekend, and club members took advantage of the ideal cycling weather. Saturday morning saw a group of eight depart the village for a 100km spin. The group headed east for Youghal and on to Tallow, where they stopped for refreshments. The group returned via Conna. Sunday morning saw two groups hit the road. The first group repeated the Saturday spin. The second group headed for Rathcormac, and turned for the climb to Cappagh Cross. From there there was a quick descent to Ballyhooly, and on to Glanworth. The group turned in Glanworth an headed for a coffee stop in Fermoy. With caffeine levels topped up, the group made quick time back to the village.
Mid week cycles are to commence at 7pm on the 17th April. The club time trial is to commence on the 24th April. This is an ideal event for cyclists of all abilities to test their form.
Club cycles continue each Saturday and Sunday. The club is always delighted to welcome new members. On Sunday mornings at 9am, all levels of cyclists are catered for, with the group split into 3 levels. New members are very welcome to turn up and cycle provided they have a racing bike, a helmet, and are over 18.
